Important Event Update!
Fundraising through the Walk drives bold and urgent innovation as we march together toward a treatment and ultimately a cure for ALS.
The Local Connection
Your participation in the Walk to Defeat ALS has a direct impact on people living with ALS and their families at the local level. Through education, support groups, access to care and advocacy, we are working to defeat ALS and provide hope to people living with ALS and their families.
Important Walk to Defeat ALS Update!
The ALS Association understands that many of you in our ALS community have questions and concerns related to the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are closely monitoring national government health agency guidance and consulting with our local and state health agencies. As always, our first priority is the safety and well-being of people with ALS, their families and caregivers, and our staff.
In response to guidance from the CDC, public health officials and in the interest of protecting the high-risk population we serve, we are postponing our event schedule through the end of May. Although this was a difficult decision, the health and safety of people with ALS and their caregivers is our top priority.
The Walk website is still live and we are inviting the community to build their teams and continue to raise funds to support our care services programs in the state.
When we reschedule our event, we will let everyone know.
AS I’m sure you understand, the effects of ALS cannot be cancelled or postponed. The impact of ALS will continue to be felt by those in our community every day. We won’t let COVID-19 prevent us from assisting families or stop our fight against this disease.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
