Hello, my name is Jack Pelletier and I am a Junior at the University of Cincinnati. I have been volunteering for the Northern Kentucky ALS Association for the past 10 years and I will continue to volunteer for ALS for years to come. I started volunteering for ALS when my best friend's dad was diagnosed with ALS, my best friend Grace and I were only in the fourth grade. At first, I was just helping my mom who had started a walk team named Gil's Groupies. When I was in the sixth grade I decided to be the walk captain of Gil's Groupies. That year we had over 150 people walking and raised over $10,000 for research and patient programs. From then on, I found a connection with ALS and knew this was an organization I wanted to give my time and talent to.

From walking the neighborhood placing luminaries to light up New Years Eve to the fire pits our families had, Gil will always be someone I remember. Gil enjoyed helping others in anyway he could and I will continue to honor Gil by helping the ALS community find a cure for ALS.
