It has been 5 years since our first ALS walk. 5 years!!!! That was our first and last walk with our dad, husband, brother, bro in-law, grandpa and friend. Little did we know, he would pass away exactly 3 months to the day later!
Alot had happened in the five years since we lost Mark "Scummer" Perkins. His great granddaughter, Marley was born, Angela and Danny got married, Skylar is attending college, Anthony is thriving in middle school, Alyssa is 17, and we just enjoyed her class ring ceremony and dance & started a new job, Addisyn is blowing 2nd grade up and excelling in every subject, Courtney started her own greeting card business and website, and Gavin is raising a family of his own and just bought his first home. Aaron is trying to be the man my dad would want him to be and my mom... well she is still missing her husband!! All of these special moments we have celebrated without my dad’s presence and it’s been hard not having him here to witness the milestones that he’d have been tickled pink over! I know he’s our biggest cheerleader in Heaven, as we are his here on Earth, but his absence is still affecting all of us daily!
Our hope is that others will not miss these moments in their lives, as my dad has. By walking and donating- we are giving others diagnosed with ALS a chance, a chance that wasn't given to daddy!
Thank you all so much for the love, hugs, prayers and time!

Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
