We are walking "In Memory and Honor of Paul Light", the founding team captain of "Team Light", who died Jan. 2, 2014, from ALS. His courage, boldness, humor and deep faith in God, clearly exhibited during his 2 1/2 year challenge with ALS, was a model, many felt, for dealing with adversity. In spite of the obstacles that came as the disease advanced, his focus remained striving to engage life to the fullest. He especially loved his family, whom brought him the most joy. He was blessed with twin grandsons in 2012, and survived long enough to attend their first birthday.
Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
This horrific disease can strike anyone.ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
Presently, there is no known cause, or cure, of the disease. Help make a difference and donate or join Team Light today!
